The proposed corporate structure is motivated by their need to group asset classes according to their business focus. This makes it easier for those prospective investors that prefer a direct exposure to any one of the asset classes as opposed to all of them.

 

Farming operations will fall directly under Astars Starch & Starch Derivatives. Astars Cassava will grow cassava under both natural rainfall conditions as well as irrigation. In addition to its own farming activities, Astars Cassava intends to better the lives of local small-scale farmers and their families through a well-structured cassava out-grower scheme. Astars Cassava will provide an integrated platform to empower smallholder farmers to become self-sufficient business owners. Through sharing knowledge, technology and financing, Astars Cassava will help to create an infinite number of opportunities for the contracted farmers, fostering inclusive growth by increasing both yields and profits. Seven Research Institutions including the Department of Research and Specialist Services together with Agribiotech, are providing virus- free planting material on a rapid multiplication basis to meet the needs of the Project.
